Check out ‘Walk Score’!

mapleleafmanagement • August 4, 2014

There’s a really interesting website called Walk Score that will rate the city and even the neighborhood that you live in.  Walk score rates each city or neighborhood with a walk score, bike score and transit score. They also have some great maps that explain their scores as well.  Pretty cool!

All you do is visit the Walk Score website, type in your zip code, address, neighborhood or city and a few scores will pop up!

Here’s the stats for the Maple Leaf neighborhood:

Walk Score: 69 (some what walk-able)
Transit Score: 56 (good transit)
Bike Score: 65 (bike-able)

And the stats for Green Lake:

Walk Score: 77 (very walk-able)
Transit Score: 53 (good transit)
Bike Score: 77 (very bike-able)

Now if we do the city of Seattle, we get these stats:

Walk Score: 71 (very walk-able)
Transit Score: 57 (good transit)
Bike Score: 64 (bike-able)

Interesting, right? Go put in your zip code, neighborhood or city and let us know what you find!

Have fun in this sun!
